  9.      stune - local settings for system tunable parameters

  12.      The file _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_ssss_yyyy_ssss_gggg_eeee_nnnn_////_ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee contains local system settings for tunable
  13.      parameters.  The parameter settings in this file replace the default
  14.      values specified in _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_ssss_yyyy_ssss_gggg_eeee_nnnn_////_mmmm_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee_////_****, if the new values are within the
  15.      legal range for the specified parameter.  Blank lines and lines beginning
  16.      with the # or * characters are considered comments and are ignored.  The
  17.      file contains one line for each parameter to be reset.  The syntax for
  18.      each line is:

  20.      _p_a_r_a_m_e_t_e_r _n_a_m_e[,_t_a_g] = _v_a_l_u_e [_llll_llll|_LLLL_LLLL]

  22.      _p_a_r_a_m_e_t_e_r _n_a_m_e   The name of the tunable parameter.

  24.      _t_a_g              Optional field that if specified controls whether the
  25.                       parameter is used in the current configuration.  Use of
  26.                       this field can permit multiple configurations to be
  27.                       present in a single _ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee file.  See _mmmm_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee(4) and
  28.                       _ssss_yyyy_ssss_tttt_eeee_mmmm(4) for more details.

  30.      _v_a_l_u_e            The new value for the tunable parameter.

  32.      _llll_llll|_LLLL_LLLL            This optional field specifies whether the parameter
  33.                       should be interpreted as a 32 or 64 bit quantity.

  35.      The file _ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee normally resides in _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_ssss_yyyy_ssss_gggg_eeee_nnnn.  You can edit this file,
  36.      as root, as you find necessary.  However, it is suggested that you use
  37.      the system tuning tool, _ssss_yyyy_ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee(1M), instead of making changes directly
  38.      to the _ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee file.  _ssss_yyyy_ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee makes specified changes in the _ssss_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee file for
  39.      you.  You should never directly edit the default configuration files in
  40.      the _mmmm_tttt_uuuu_nnnn_eeee directory.
